Default Crankshaft Pulley Recall

Happy Memorial Day! I took my 04 RX 330 to the Lexus of Palm Beach dealer today to get the crankshaft pulley recall inspection done. The service manager said 95% of these pulleys need to be replaced (wow good thing I just drove 1200 miles on a bad one). They replaced the crankshaft pulley free of charge, and at the same time replaced the 2 drive belts charging me for parts only, total came out to be $32. As I mentioned my Rx was squealing at startup, so these new belts should end that I will keep you posted but so far so good.
Now for the not so good. Asked them to reset my ECU because the tranny was acting up when accelerating out of stop lights, etc. I just bought the car less than a month ago from my mom. They wanted to charge me $150 for the reset (thought this would be free, how foolish). Said they would do it for free if I did my timing belt/water pump there, but they are charging double what an independent shop would charge me with the same lexus parts. I'm not doing the timing belt for at least another 20K. Also, one of the splashguards on the bottom came loose, they said they would fix it but of course they didnt. Any advice on how to keep these splashguards secure? Any advice on the ECU, can I really do it myself by disconnecting the battery? I think I'm going to JM lexus next time, was not impressed with the service of Palm Beach compared to Lexus of Cherry Hill, NJ. Best regards everyone, your help is greatly appreciated

Default ECU Reset

I’ve never had to do it on 2007. But on my 2001 RX I reset the ECU every time I got gas.

After a week or 10 days. The car transmission learned my style of driving. And would be extremely slow taking off from the light.

From another thread here are the instructions.

•Make sure the ignition is turned off

•Remove the engine bay fuse box cover

•Remove the 20Amp/25Amp EFI fuse

•Remove the 15Amp ETCS fuse

•Wait 30 seconds

•Re-insert the two fuses

•Install the fuse box cover

I had Tustin Lexus replace the pully on my '04 330. I asked them to do the reflash at the same time and they did it at no charge. They found a coolant leak in the small plate behind the oil filter, but I had to pay for that and a coolant change. $258. But they gave us a free loaner, wash job and full tank of gas. I do almost all my own repairs so paying that much for a small gasket and a gallon of coolant was a little hard to swallow, but made easier by the wash, fill, etc. By the way, the reflash is a really nice change to way the trans. shifts. Smooth, and precise. Not perfect, but much better.

Can anyone else confirm that all I need for a reset is to pull the EFI and ETCS fuse and wait 30 second for the reset? I have an 04. The manager said I should drive it aggresively after the reset, not really my style, wanted to see if anyone else can confirm this. Please any help on the reflash/reset is greatly appreciated, if its as simple as pulling out some fuses then thank you for saving me the time at the dealership.
