I have read this part of my 2009 Lexus RX's navigation manual for hours and tried everything I can think of, but when trying to set up "dial by name", it keeps telling me no voice tags are set up. I have done searches of the forum and found posts that show how to set the voice tags, but they have not worked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Press the talk button on the steering wheel. Then press or say help. And the command list shows up on the nav screen. Just press the screen buttons to see all of the available commands.

 

Thanks for that information, but what I am wanting to do is dial the telephone by name with the voice recognition.

Dial by number and speed dial both work fine, but the dial by name function is eluding me.

I have just used the speed dial on mine. Never seen anywhere that you could set it up by name.

 

Yes, it will dial by name. I went to the Lexus dealer, and it took Daniel, the service writer, about 5 minutes to show me how to set it up. Of course, I forgot how to do it by the time I got home. As soon as I finish my coffee, I'm going out and burn about a half a tank of gas while trying to figure it out again.
