I keep reading CCD is the way to go over Amos, anyone actually see these in person and able to chime in? I am looking at the Kenwood 6980 and some sort of CCD camera as of now, if Amos ends up working better with unit and looks better I'll go with the cmos 200

Do you mean CMOS? If you have a Big Box electronics store near you can usually see the various offerings. Some larger automotive radio shops will have displays as well. As always, youtube is a shoppers delight.

I don't know if you've bought the 6980 yet but I got this link this morning from Amazon and one seller has them for 525 (new) with 13 bucks shipping. Major bargain.

I think the bad initial rep has really driven the price down. Two of the three reviews have come back to change their one star rating to 4 star after the firmware update.
