I need to order two keys for my RX330. One is broken and I don't want to get stranded if the other one breaks.

Simply put, where is the key code located?

OK, so now I think I feel really dumb. There are some codes on the back of my keys. There are three codes. Which code is the one I would need to make a copy of the key?

 

The code comes with the keys' package when you buy the car. Otherwise, I believe the dealer can get the code when you give your VIN.

 

When I bought my Lexus in addition to the two regular keys I also received a "Credit Card Ignition Key". The key code is on that card. It is also on a little metal tag slipped onto a metal ring that I received from the dealer.

 

I second that. The dealer can get the code with your VIN, but be prepared to provide proof of ownership.

There's a form to fill up and follow instructions, you will get your spares. But you will need proof of ownership. But seems to be the painless way to do it.

 

i got the same thing. but dealer told me to bring the vin to the dealer and registration under my name and they can also make a new key for me.

 

There are three lines with number/symbols on a sticker on my orginal key.

The first is some symbols
The second is some letters/letter/3 numbers/4 numbers
The third is DENSO 4 numbers and then a letter

Are any of these the key code?

 

Not on the key. Do you have the credit card key stuck in your manual?

As mentioned above, take your VIN and proof of ownership to the dealer. You can ask for your key code for future reference.
