My spare wheel cover that twists in to place is not very tight and I am concerned of it just falling off. I see how when you twist it into position, that it is supposed to lock into place. Mine must be a bit worn so their is not much to hold it locked. Has anybody have a solution for fixing this problem. A new plastic cover is very expensive and I would like to modify my existing cover. I took it off for now because I do not want to loose it. Any suggestions?

try gluing some thin strips of plastic on the locking tabs to decrease the space, therefore increasing the pressure.
