Quote: I loved the weapon R, the problem with me was I kept gunning the car when I had it in there, that is the reason I removed it. Other than that it worked great. I put the K&N filter because I always drive the Rx slowly, and it helps facilitate that

I am selling My Secret weapon R intake and I do have an extra K&N filter if anyone is interested, (Don't ask why I have two, but I do)

I have done everything to make the car a little quicker and the things that have done that are my flowmaster exhaust, Torque spark plugs, and the Secret Weapon R intake.

Hopefully this helps.
So you observed that the combination of the Flowmaster the Weapon R and the plugs did increase the quickness of the car?

I know this thing isn't a hot rod I just want all the response I can get without getting crazy. Did you install the CAI kit with the Weapon R?

Here are my thoughts on the K&N filters. I going to make up some numbers but they are just to prove a point. Let's say the stock filter has a maximum of 300 CFM and the K&N has a maximum of 500 CFM. If at a lower RPM your engine only needs 150 CFM of air, then both filters will provide the same amount of air at the same level of vacuum. At higher RPMs the engine may need 300 CFM of air, both filters will be able to provide the required amount of air. There is not advantage. The idea of free flowing is that it can allow for more CFM then the stock filter. In most cases, it is not necessary. The advantage may come in when the filters get dirty and the stock filter goes down to 250 CFM and the K&N goes down to 450. Change the filter when required and I dont' think you will see any difference.

Hi Carver,
I have the Weapon R CAI on my 330 but I replace the cone-filter to a K&N as I just like K&N better.
But in all reality if you truly want a faster RX I would agree that the stock 350 will slap around my modded 330.

(IMHO) These RX`s were not built, nor designed to be anything other than a classy, very comfortable, luxury cross over suv. Some of these mods remind me of what kids do to an econo box Honda Civic. (and those are designed to be nothing more than fuel efficient) Proper tool for the proper job is all I`m sayin. I could get 2hp more from my Cub Cadet by simply replacing the carb. see my point?

Not really, a lot of people enjoy messing with their cars, I've messed with every car I've ever owned, I had a Flowmaster on my last Town Car (almost unnoticeable but a nice V8 burble at idle ).

You're usually pretty mellow, what's with the sudden Lexus police 'tude?

We recently started selling K&N filters and the feedback we have gotten from our customers has been great! I've also use K&N filters on my previous cars and have been very satisfied. It's ultimately a question of whether you have realistic expectations.
