Default TomTom iphone app with bluetooth???

Hi all -

I have a 2009 RX 350 and use the iphone tom tom mount (yes, i paid the ridiculous price). This setup actually charges my iphone and using a tape deck adapter (yes, these still exist) my itunes actually sounds great in the car stereo.

But my lexus navigation doesn't have traffic capabilities which is a major setback. Also the maps are not as accurate and easy to use as other newer map/nav functions. So i'm considering buying the tom tom iphone app for the traffic and as a compliment to the lexus navigation.

My question - does anyone use the tom tom app and can they comment on how it integrates (if at all) with the bluetooth in the car? My phone calls go thru the car bluetooth, will my iphone send any tom tom signals? Will my tom tom iphone use the car adapter and go thru the stereo like music? does this mean i can't listen to music and use tom tom?

Really new at this and looking for someone with the same setup and facts on how it will work... and the best way to maximize all the functionality.

Thanks in advance, happy holiday weekend.
Joe

ok i use the tom tom app on the iphone
you can use it with a bluetooth. ( im not sure about the car bluetooth, but i know with other bluetooth adapters for example blackberry vm605 <-- thats what i have and it worked.

also you can listen to music while your using tom tom ( there is a button in the app that lets you do that)
its pretty accurate i have the tom tom one xl and i compared both and both are the same my iphone picks up signal at first faster than the one xl but after that all the same
i dont have the traffic because i dont need it.
and i suggest you jailbreak your iphone and get the tom tom app for free you will still get everything including the map correction and updates

thank you
