Default Tire Valve Core

Does anyone know if the TPMS system requires a specialty valve core? I have one that's leaking a couple of pounds a day...I can get a set of cores at the parts house for $2...just didn't know if this is a specialty item or not for our vehicles.

***Not that it matters, but I'm running 235/55-18's on it.***

Yes. If you have TPMS then the tire valve stem is the sensor. Are you sure it needs a stem and you don't have a nail in the tire?
