Default Ugh basic stereo......

Call me stupid - am the new owner of a CPO 2009 RX - love love the vehicle so far, but can't believe I did not check the stereo closer before buying....can not believe there is no Aux in jack - I had one on the standard stereo in my 2007 Dodge Nitro so didn't even think to verify in the RX - are there any simple add ons to get iPod working through radio other then FM transmittor? Can't believe a luxury car without an AUX jack.....yikes.

You can ask to have the Lexus/Toyota iPod interface installed for you:

Or, you can go third party. Just search on the forum for iPod. Plenty of existing threads on this subject to include DIY installs should you choose to go that route.

I understand your frustration, but some simple add ons are not so simple if the equipment is sophisticated. Benz uses optical connectors while Lexus went with dual differential with larger levels than standard audio.

Yeah, you'd think these would come with factory AUX-in jacks. Check out the VAIS Technology iPod/iPhone Integration modules. Their units use the Lexus/Toyota factory OEM stereo plugs so they don't void your warranty and are designed to work with the Factory Lexus touchscreen controls.

There are also some other brands that basically do the same thing as the Vaistech so you might want to do a search to see which you prefer.
