Hi everyone
I am looking at buying a RX 400h and have noticed several listed on Autotrader list Levinson Audio upgrade but in the pictures the little decal is missing from the dash, especially in the '08 models. Is it possible for the vehicle to have Levinson and not have the decal? If so is there any way to tell if it is a Levinson system from a picture or in person?

If there is no centre speaker in the middle of the dash (over the NAV screen) it's not a Mark Levinson (and in the pictures in the link you posted, there is no centre speaker). That's what I think anyway - I could be wrong.

My guess is these dealers just see the NAV and assume it's Mark Levinson as well.

 

Speaking of your search for an RX400h - try to aim for a 2007 or 2008. The NAV system is a generation 5 vs generation 4 for the 2006. It just looks nicer and has some more features. Also, the stereo can play mp3, which the 2006 stereo can't.

 

The levinnon decal is missing because that vehicle does not have the Levinson sound system--as rcy said with Levinson there is a speaker directly above the navigation display on the dash pad about 2 inches from the edge --hope that helps!

 

I purchased my 2009 from that dealership and out of there huge selection of CPO rx350's none of them had the mark levinson package

i found it difficult to find CPO rx's in my area with mark levinson sound

 

Thanks everyone, that is what I expected but wanted to make sure it was not some design change in the 08's. Now to find one that is 1) in my price range and 2) close enough that I do not have to fly across the country to get it!
