So it only took me about a week or so to receive them after I placed my order. I've been traveling for work so I was just able to put them in yesterday and let me tell you they are soooooo much nicer and worth it! Such an easy, quick, beautiful looking mod.

I don't know how you got that gap. Is the leather bunched up behind one of the brackets?

No gap on mine...

Take them back down in daylight, you have something under the brackets. Make sure the two top fittings are metal to metal, the guide pin and the bolt that secures the bracket to the seat.

Yeah I saw that pic. I was confused by some of the instructions as there are no diagrams and seems a to be parts included that have no use. I will try again

Crappy low light pics I know.

Before I forget here is your comparison from the OEM ones....
Mine have a gap as well and creak a little. I believe it has to do with the metal mounting pieces, which they did not have so I had to wait about three weeks for them to get in. And when I finally got the package the metal pieces had an amateur weld job. I am going to call Jim and see what them recommend.

Cool let us know how that goes. I just might call as well. Gonna take them off and take a look at what might be causing this as well anyways.

Q: these were with my stock arms. However the new wide arms also had these included. I never used them cause they seemed unusable at the time when I test fitted them in places. Is me not using these properly maybe the reason I have the gap between both arms? Thanks guys..

Got my new armrests and LOVE the increased comfort, but I got the dreaded gap between the front ends of the armrests. Had the guy who installed them take them off and reinstall to confirm nothing was put on crooked and everything looked fine, so I assume it's a flaw in the armrest itself?

Has anyone figured out the gap issue or contacted the manufacturer about it?

I have been too lazy to reinstall them with that pictured piece. It's very comfortable and I just forget the flaw lol! I need to do it though. Maybe today or this week.

Contacted the company about my crooked armrests... the official word is that the gap is cause by the seat frame being tilted, so there's no fix!

Oh, well... I still love the feel of the armrests, so I'll just try not to look down!

There are two ways to fix the gap. Put a shim between the bracket and the attach point on the seat. That will move the rest to the right on the driver seat and to the left on the pass seat.

Or, bend the mounting post on the bracket.

Sounds like the wider armrests are nice. If any of you have your old armrests still in your possesion (ivory). I would be interested in buying them. I live in central NJ. I just bought a 2009 rx and the armrests are the only things that aren't in mint condition. Thx!

Default Like what i c!

Just got a 09 RX350 and while browsing the forum came across this DIY...

Gr8 write up. Definately a must have. I haven't had my RX a week yet and immediately thought to myself how uncomfortable the armrest were. I had no idea there was a solution of wider/longer armrest mod.

Gotta have in my book. I have to stop checking out the forum cause i have projects lined up.

I am selling my ivory colored wide arm rests on ebay if anyone is looking for some for their RX350.
The color is a perfect match for the Ivory/Ecru/Cashmere interior.
