Default Engine discoloration after cleaning

Hi guys,your help is very appreciated, i cleaned my rx330 engine with an engine cleaner ,now there is like streak discoloratin on the silver engine cover,the black plastic is very rough looking and even the black frame looks dicolored.Any suggestions please

dont clean your engine, unless you are going to a car show, to installing a clear hood, there is no reason to degrease. (this can be debateable)

there are harsh chemicals in engine degreasers that are not meant to come in contact with plastics or painted plastics. i once ruined a set of hubcaps using chemicals, better off mild detergent.

there isnt much you can do now except replace or paint them.

maybe post some pics for better advice

Windex or soap and water is the best way to clean an engine. Neither contains chemicals that will ruin plastics. Of course, those methods take actual effort not just a trigger finger action.
