not a great shot of the interior but here you are:

went with the high tensile cloth seats......leather doesn't work so well in sweltering african heat!

nothing like gliding over kenyan rutted and potholed roads!

Looks nice! That's the first thing I thought when I saw the cloth seats...must do you well in the heat I think I would prefer cloth seats in that type of heat as well!

they work sooo much better than leather...

you can probably see in the photo that i tinted both front windows and added heat rejection film to the windscreen.....

make a massive difference.....AC not needed at full blast anymore, just rocking one bar now!

tasteful tarting.....

im not one for over doing it too much......plus the roads here are pretty crappy so anything that compromises ground clearance and ride quality are a big no no.

was thinking about changing up the interior bulbs to led bulbs....i see there is a comprehensive post in the sticky threads.....

anyone else modded the lighting in the interior?

Understood. I can only imagine how rough the roads can be.

I have swapped out the interior bulbs and puddle lamps to LED in my 450h. Very easy to do. The reverse lights were switched out to LEDs too this morning. I found using a flexible plastic card is best to pop off covers. Good luck.

hey...could you tell me what kind of led interior bulbs go where?

i am going to order the bulbs from a uk website, so just want to make sure i get it right...

i did read up on the sticky post....but to be honest i didnt quite understand which exact bulbs i need for each application...

are the UK and US sites the same in the way they have codes for the bulbs?

suraj, I'm afraid I can't help you on the bulbs. I followed what a few others had done to theirs. They listed the bulb types, amount needed and install instructions much like the sticky in the 2nd gen forum. Also, the owners manual listed the bulbs and what they are for, possibly it does for your RX. I found it under the do it yourself maintenance section. Additionally you might want to check the bulb guide from Sylvania - http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...lacementGuide/

A few of us over in 3rd gen ordered our bulbs through V-LEDS. There are other vendors including a few from here that may be able to assist you. Good luck.

there's also a thread that is near the top as a sticky that describes nicely howto replace internal lights with leds, and links to ebay sellers and all necessary info and part #'s. i used it to replace all of my inside lights

mandyfig.....i started out early this morning with your DIY fix...

was a bit of a struggle but i got it done! the rattle went away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

for this morning anyway....suddenly the rattle came back this afternoon.

had a look, and found the felt i used was already worn...

used a rubber o ring (have a rubber factory) and its silent once again..

fingers crossed it lasts!

thanks a lot for your clear instructions....the pictures made all the difference!

well....maybe a rubber o ring wasn't the best description...
i used what used to be a rubber o ring (fat one) and stuck it around the edge..

so more of a rubber sheeted C shape..

wow i'm really rubbish at describing things
