Hello to all,
I am pleased to say I have joined Club Lexus, my thanks to all. A month ago I purchased a 2005 RX. The car shows 51000 miles and was Lexus certified. I bought the RX form a local car dealer which purchased the RX from the Lexus dealer. This auto is smooth and a joy to drive. The only issue I had was a headlight which contained water after I washed the RX. The local dealer installed a new headlight and told me this is a factory defect and when the other headlight leaks I will have the pleasure of paying for the repair, $1200 he said.
A quick question, the button marked SNOW is to be used for poor road conditions. what effect does this have?

Thank to all of you,

Autobuff

Welcome to the forum.

All the button does is start the car in 2nd gear to help you take off in slippery conditions. Nothing more. Limits torque to the wheels so you do not bury yourself in the snow. For snow conditions many will recommend you purchase a set of snow tires for the vehicle.

The headlight issue is a known Toyota/Lexus problem across the lines. If you do a search you will find a number of threads on the topic.

Be sure to register your vehicle online with Lexus at:
https://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lex...-lexus/home.do

Will give you access to additional information and if you need a replacement Owner's Manual you can order one for free there.

Be sure to check with the dealer to see if your RX was affected by the recent brake recall and if the work was completed.
