Default 45k miles service

Hi guys,

Do you know how much is our RX's 45k miles service cost? I am wondering if I should bring it to Toyota dealer instead ...

I'm not sure what year your's is. I'm going to take my RX330 in for the master brake recall. Typically for the 60K, they drain/change brake fluid, oil/filter, cabin filter, check brakes, fluids, and the cost is around $450.

They will change the brake fluid when they do the recall, I can change the filters, so I'll probably have them change the oil and look everything over. It'll probably cost $100 at the Lexus dealer.

I took it to Toyota for the oil change. I'd see what is included in the 45K mile service, it is probably mostly checks and inspections along with and oil change, cabin and air filter change, and they'll probably want like $250. Change the filters yourself and get an oil change. I don't know what they'll charge you for the the other "checks and inspections."

Keep us up to date!

The lexus service manual has the following:
Change oil and filter and Inspect all other fluids
Rotate tires
Clean air conditioner filter
Inspect rotors and brakes

This is considered minor service. I take mine to the Toyota dealer for this. The cost is about $60. At Lexus expect about $150

Default Once again

let me point out that if you go in and ask for any of the "services" you will pay a whole lot more than if you take it in and specify what you want done. What you want done can be determined from your service manual. A typical "service is in the $170 range if I recall. Simply asking for an oil change is about $50. When it is time for other items such as transmission oil change, differential change etc. just add these items to the list and you will save significant dollars over the life of your vehicle. Some of the major services that include these items can reach $750 or so.
