Default 20,000 mile service

I was just quoted $204.00 by the stealership for the 20,000 mile service.

Just wanted to see what everyone paid or did. Don't I just need a normal oil change?

They are giving you the price for the 20k service, not just an oil change. Clarify that you ONLY want the oil changed.

You pretty much answered your own question

When you ask for the x mile service, your giving them an excuse to charge you more $$$

You should only need an oil change and myabe a cabin/air filter replacement (not sure if its every 10 or 15k for those of the top of my head).

cabin filter is ever 15k. So all you need is an oil change if you have been keeping up with service.

A synthetic oil change should run you no more than $100 at the stealership

I only do oil and filter change at the dealership ($65-75) in Fremont CA. I buy online and change my own engine and cabin air filter. For the rest of maintenance listed in owner's manual, I buy from Sewell for parts and take it to Exact Motor in Milpitas for 60% of what dealer quotes on labor.

Look at the owner manual and see what's needed. Most of the items are check this and inspect that. When you ask for only the oil and filer change at dealer, they will check most of those items anyway, so why bother paying for 20K mile service.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I am just going to have them do an oil change and filter change. I was quoted just over 70 for that.

^Yep that's really all you need to have them do.

I even bring in my own Synthetic oil, and pay labor + oil filter cost only.
Full synthetic oil change at the dealer ends up being about $75-$80 that way!

Here near Dallas, the dealership charges $125 just for a dino blend oil change. I go to the Toyota dealership where I got full synthetic OC for $60.

Regular oil change is $50 in Tampa at the dealer. For $50 (inspection included) you would be crazy not to go to a dealer.
