This question may take some time so bear with me. After I bought my 2004 RX 300, I would look and unlock it with the FOB but there was no sound indicating it was locked or unlocked. However, the lights would blink. After getting it back from the dealer after service, I use the FOB to lock and unlock and there is a 2 or 3 chirp sound notifying me it is locked or unlocked. Also, when unlocked it chirps and if i open the down the alarm goes off. According to the manual, this was not an option. Did the dealer inadvertantly do something to the electrical system or was it always supposed to do this? I like the new audible indicators that is is loocked or unlocked. Has this happened to anyone?

 

One chirp is lock, two chirps is unlock. Supposedly if the door is unlocked from the inside and the door is opened, the alarm will go off. Never heard of the alarm going off when a door is opened like that. I'd take it back to the dealer. Good luck.

 

when the door is unlocked and closed for about 1 minute, the alarm would go off when the door is opened whether i am in the truck or not.
