Changing oil on ramps?

Changing oil on ramps?
Preparing to change my oil for the first time on my RX and I saw a DIY posted here where the guy drains the oil while the car is on ramps. I've always made sure my vehicle as on flat ground to make sure I get as much oil drained as possible. Is the RX oil pan setup to allow a full drain with the front wheels on ramps?

If you have the ramps, have at it. But you do not need to buy a set for changing oil.

2007, RX350's are trickier? With the paper element replacement right?

On the 2007-2009 there is a plastic cover to remove for access to the oil filter. It has 2 screws. I just hand tighten these so I can remove the cover without any tools. All this is easily done with no ramps as long as you have an oil catch pan that is not too tall.

That's a big improvement vs 330. To get to the filter, you have to remove the front cover, 8 bolts and 2 snaps. Just takes more time.

Here is the DIY oil change procedure with PICTURES. The GS350 and RX350 are done the same way. The old spin off type oil filter went away, starting with the 2007 model year.

On our RX330, I just remove the filter from the top ..... it is a tight fit, but as long as you don't turn the filter, it doesn't spill anything.

I know what you mean. I have a modified Miata that is lowered a couple inches. I dug a pit on my property that I park the Miata over so I can get underneath it to drain. I only have to do this once a year when I take it out of storage so it ain't too bad.
