Yes I would make the dealer fix it. Did you buy it from them?

No, I bought it from another dealer far far away. But that should be irrelevant as the warranty is good in North American.

Yeah, but brakes are a wear item and it is a crapshoot as to what the dealer will do for you. The service is supposed to be done at 60,000 miles so unless there is a problem they are not going to bleed the brakes for free.

Thanks guys. I think I may very well take it to the nearest Toyota dealer for ONLY the brake fluid replacement. Everything else, I can handle with my local guy for the cost of a few peanuts.

It kills me to admit to this, but for my 30K service, it cost about $600 at a Lexus dealership. Thank god for Club Lexus.

I looked up the invoice on my 30K service that I had done at the local Toyota Dealership. Everything was done that was required by Lexus. Total cost $289.

Which is exactly why I'm going to Toyota.

I just used a set of speedbleeders and they worked great. One man bleed can be done with little work. Get the blue brake fluid and it's a super easy job.

One thing to note. The Toyota service guy added a transmission service flush and fill to the 30K service order. Starting with the Lexus RX 2007 this was not required because Lexus uses World Standard Fluid. I pointed this out to the service writer and he promptly removed it. Had I not caught this, they would have charged me for unnecessary work and used the wrong fluid in the tranny.

Just always review and read before signing a workorder.
