My 2004 RX330 AWD, purchased in October of 2003, was manufactured in Japan. Many were, as the Canadian production facility was ramping up. The car, now nearly 7 years old, has held up better, make that much better, than any other car I've owned and I've owned over 30 vehicles. Good to see that they are still keeping my vehicle safe.

My '04 was also made in Japan but I haven't read anything yet that says it is only Japan-built or Canadian-built models. The "Lexus Drivers" website doesn't list anything for this recall yet. I guess their database has not yet been updated. The article I read from AutoWeek states that owners will be notified early November. If you are a recent buyer (as I am) you might register your ownership on the Lexus Drivers website, https://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/home.do. This might help with your service notification.

So it's STILL not clear...are ALL RX330s from the affected years being recalled or JUST the ones made in Japan...and it's not clear that any USA vehicles were made anywhere except Canada except for the early 2004 "first" RX330's, made in Japan.

I checked the lexus drivers website, nothing on my 2005 rx330 yet,

I did get this: 2004 Through 2005 Japan Produced RX 330 And Early 2006 RX 400H Center Console (Floor Carpet Cover) Retaining Clips---No idea what this is for but I dont have the oem floor mats just aftermarket rubber ones.

My 2005 RX was built in Japan not Canada, and it was purchased in California so yes there are USA vehicles that were built in Japan

Don't worry, if your vehicle is part of the recall, Lexus will notify you.

They will only replace a cup in the master cylinder. The pads are not part of the recall. Try this recall check by VIN.

The VIN you entered is not a valid Toyota VIN. Please check your VIN and try again. Note that Lexus and Scion VINs are not recognized and vehicles purchased outside the Continental US may not be included.

If they replace the brake master cylinder, then they'll have to replace the brake fluids????

They're not saying (so far, at least) that they are replacing the complete master cylinder. They are only replacing the resevoir cup. They haven't said if this will include a fluid flush or not but I suppose it will. Considering the problem is caused by using a non-Toyota brake fluid, I would think they would replace the fluid to ensure the correct fluid is used at the time of service.

I believe they pull this from the DMV. So as long as your car is registered & affected, they will contact you by mail.

I doubt that they get it from DMV. It is based on who is the registered [at time of purchase/on-line] etc in Lexus records. It should be one of things they check at time of service. Maybe some member who works at dealership can confirm?
