This topic comes up and dies and repeats.
It comes down to what each owner does ...
This is what I have been doing (kind off odd but if you use the one of the odo it is not a problem).
With dino oil change oil + filter every 3750 miles based on normal driving conditions. .. This number helps you get into 15k miles multiple without going too many miles between oil change.
With Synthetic I am changing every 5000 miles.
Again there is no single correct answer. Just dont push it beyond manufacturers recommendation.

I just noticed the OP as an RX 330. The Six Month or 5,000 mile service applies to the 2007 RX 350 or newer. I assume mandyfig as the correct service schedule for the 330.

Of course the dealer recommends a low interval for an oil change...all the better to get you back in the door and suck away your hard earned money.
There is a TSB from Toyota for certain engines/models/years that states you can run 10000 miles as long as you are using the Toyota 0w20. I suspect that you can substitute any good synthetic oil and follow the same interval.
Me personally, I run the Toyota 0w20 in my 2006 400h for 10000km (6200miles) but am debating going 12000km (7500miles) based on a UOA I had done.

So did the UOA tell you how much life the oil still have left after the 10K Km? Me I went ahead and run to 7500 miles anyway with Synthetic and did not bother with the UOA - bad practice I know. But I felt it's a safe risk with synthetic and our engine is not that hard on oil.

5K on dino oil is fine. Used to be my strategy, had good history. Now all my cars are syn and on 7K per change, except the son's Maxima.
