Default Volume and Tune ***** Not Working

Recently I discovered that my volume and tune ***** no longer work. The volume **** does turn the radio off/on, but when I want to turn the volume up, it does not work. Usually I get numbers when I turn up or down but it does nothing. The volume also does not work via the steering wheel.

The tune **** scrolls the the EQ settings/Fade/Balance, but I cant make adjustments to increase or decrease.

I did look at the TEL fuse per research i seen, but when I looked at my box, the 7.5 fuse was NOT there. I replaced the fuse with the spare, but the issue remains.

Any help??

You may have to reprogram the sunroof and windows but disconnecting the battery for awhile may work.

This is what I thought but wanted to see if anyone had a similar issue. I did have to replace the battery about 3 weeks ago in which I had to do the roof/window re-program but never and issue with the radio.

My concern is that why was the 7.5a fuse for the TEL missing altogether? Was it needed?

Setup: Mark Levinson w/ Nav 05 RX330

Default Volume **** on 08 LS460 not working

Having nearly the same problem on my 08 LS460 with mark levinson sound. The volume **** doesn't work at all sometimes, although the steering wheel buttons work. Must be something loose inside, because I noticed that if I push on the panel to the left of volume button, functionality returns. Seems to happen more frequently on hot days. Definitely not what I expected in a lexus!

Unbelievable.... the pushing to the left actually fixed it. I have an 08 IS250 and just noticed today that the bottom panel (volume, tune, input) did not work at all. Pushed to the left of volume, thanks sjzack, and functionality returned. Has anyone nailed down why this happens or how to fix it?

Guys, this is a very common issue & I was searching around and found this thread, same problem . They said it could be a software/firmware bug. I don't Know and I am still having the problem from time to time but few minutes later it works a gain.

I have noticed this on my new-to-me 2007 RX. The steering wheel works but the **** on the radio does not. If I press the faceplate near the volume **** then the **** starts to work. To me it seems like a physical connection between the faceplate or **** is being disrupted and pushing on the faceplate fixes it.

Had the same issue with my ML system. I took a bit more direct and costly approach:

Scrapped it and put in an Alpine 1-din with new speakers and new amps. The contrast is amazing.

How does your setup work with the screen? Do the steering wheel controls work? Can you control the radio with the navigation screen?

It works with the navi because the aftermarket harness kit comes with a resistor to complete the circuit for the Navi to work without the stock unit. You can even buy a 68 ohm resistor off the shelf and complete the circuit.
Since I only use the AC controls, I have not tried to get the navi voice controls running.

The steering wheel controls can work but it needs an additional part to interface the controls with the aftermarket unit. I did not buy that part. But i am thinking of adding that too.

This link gives you the parts you need but it depends on your model. If you are willing to do a DIY like I did, you should be able to save loads of money on installation.
Here in australia, they would have charged me in excess of 800 AU dollars to set up the stereo, speakers and the amplifiers.
It cost me about 150 dollars for all the parts (excluding the unit, speakers and amps) and some weekends to get this done. Plus music sounds sweeter because you did it all on your own.

I think this is the correct steering wheel control : http://www.metraonline.com/part/ASWC-1
