Default Installing Chrome Door Handles help! Last step!!!

The front was a piece of cake but the back is a PAIN. I removed the door panel, and disconnected all the wires, and I found the torx screw for the door handle, but the small piece will not come off! After about 2 hours, I found out that the right side needed to be squeezed, so I took many tools out, tweezers, too loose so I added tape, still did not work. I also tried nose pliers but they were too big to fit in the latch mechanism vertically.

PLEASE HELP. I still have the panel, open as-is. If nothing else works, I might just call the mechanic.

What if you get a pair of hemostats? The locking tweezers with handles that resemble scissors. They would squeeze very well, and are much stiffer than tweezers.
