Popping and Clunking in Steering Wheel
Hello All,
My 2008 RX350 started out with a popping feeling through the wheel while starting and stopping. It increased to include that plus while turning at slow speed ie navigating a parking lot. Now it does all those things plus a slight clunking noise while going over bumps at slow speed, it may do it at higher ones but not able to hear it over the road/air noise. It seems to me that it's coming from the driver side.
Took it to the local Lexus dealer, a technician drove it with me. His opinion was it was springs in the steering column to keep tension on it and hold it's adjusted position. I've been under the car and from what I can see and check it all appears tight.
Any ideas?

Did the dealer fix the issue? You are under warranty.

Lexus Test Driver
Here at TN we have a similar problem which the steering intermediate shaft was making a popping/knocking type of noise.
They had a TSB fort it on some models.

I'm not sue if Lexus has the same issue.
But if you think it's a problem for you, Lexus should address it.
