Default Just Installed Short Ram Air Intake

Hey guys,
I just got done installing a short ram air intake into my '07 RX 350. I installed a Weapon R Secret Weapon Air Intake. Took me about 30 minutes to install. It sounds absolutely amazing and I can feel the slight increase in hp. Its suppose to increase mpg, however I love the sound of the intake so I tend to punch it a lot haha.
Ive included some pics.
Lemmie know if you have any questions.

I hate replacing the air filter on my 330. The space is so crammed in there. The freeking bracket in the corner prevents the top cover to seal back, and not allowing the hinge to slide in! PITA!!!!

Good that you replace it 1x year!

Maybe they have corrected this later. They have to. Mine's built in 2004 early, one of the first ones that rolled out of the Canada plant.

Is there a way to get fresh air into that filer? I have seen other mods on different cars that has a scoop or some just use a tube to get fresh air up from the front gril or the bottom to the filer.

It's a much tighter fit on the 2nd and 3rd gen RXs than the first, but doable.

I'm glad you like it, but I highly doubt you're making any more power.
One of the reasons my wife wanted the RX was that it was quiet...to each their own.

Also, you're not doing yourself any good by sucking in the hottest air at the top of the engine. You want cold air because it is denser. I had on of these in a previous car and the tube went all the way to the wheel well to get the coldest air.

I think a few years ago, when still in Mexico, I had a thread about where one could have a snorkle pipe down to suck in cooler air. I plan on doing some upcoming air intake modifications with my RX300, but the 2nd gen RX is a much more difficult puppy in part because they moved the tranny cooler from the passenger side to the driver's side, but it still would be possible maybe with flexible tubing to attach a hose from the front of the filter and stick into the side of the body frame to draw cooler air from their. A heat shield could help somewhat.

One of the other things I did to cool that area was remove the rubber cladding that. See blue line below based on above picture.

Yes, colder air is better because it is more compressed therefore it contains more oxygen my volume which results in more combustion, however in a vehicle like this where is it very easy to get water into the intake, it is not safe to have it that low. The kit came with a pipe to place the filter wherever it chose, but for now, this is fine. im not trying to get water and more dirt sucked up into the engine.
