We might be buying an RX330 this week, just waiting for the vehicle inspection check and additional photos before we make up our mind. Of course it's a 2003 Sports Luxury (not sure if that's called the same thing over in the US, it has the navigation and reverse camera). Anyway I have driven both the pre-MY05 and MY05+ models and I know the screen is heaps better in the MY05. Unfortunately the budget doesn't stretch that far for a 350.
Anyway the backup camera on the MY05 models have an on screen display that shows where the car is going, and lines will light up red if the car may hit something. The pre-MY05 models just have a camera. I also know that the RX330 (pre-MY05) Japanese Harrier has this feature. Is this just a software thing, is it an option that can be turned on/off, is it inbuilt into the camera?? Any help on this question would be fantastic.
And yes I do know that these are meant to be used as guides and shouldn't ever replace you actually checking where you are driving.
