iPhone AUX Input Connection/Use
I am looking for the best solution for an aux input for a 2008 RX350 without Nav. I want to be able to use the iPhone while remaining connected to the Aux iPhone connector input to the radio. I have looked into the VAIS Tech SLI but I am afraid the cable is too short for the accessibility/use of the iPhone. I want the aux input to act as the aux in and charge the iPhone as well.
If anyone has solved this problem please let me know. I do not think the SLI wiring harness is long enough to remain connected to the iPhone while in use and driving.

Have you looked at the XM Skydock? You can use this without a XM subscription and it will play your iphone apps thru the car speakers and charge your iphone. The reviews that I've read say it sounds very good.

From what I can tell, you would still be linking through FM on the skydock, which means it won't sound as good as my current setup, which is through a tape adapter and the Belkin Tunebase.

iSimple Gateway
Looking at the iSimple Gateway with a 11 ft iSimple charging iPod/iPhone cable. I think this will give me the length I need for the iPhone and charge the iPhone as well.
Works with RX350 radios with the AM/SAT button. I have a 2008 which I think this will support. Gateway "emulates" the SAT radio, I think that is the way it works.
The VAIS SLI with SLI wiring harness would do something similar but I am told the iPhone connection would not be long enough.
I have the VAIS SLU with an iSimple cable in my wife's 2004 SC430 and it works for the iPhone and has enough cable length to come up from the center console and stay connected to the iPhone. Charges the iPhone and has great sound.
Will know more about the iSimple solution soon but I think it may be the way to go in the 2008 RX350 without Nav.
