Default 04 rx hitch

What is with the aftermarket trailer hitches? Everyone that I have seen looks terrible and the tubing is very visible all the way across the back of the vehicle.
They all have a "U" shaped bracket that fits under/around the muffler.

Am I stuck with buying the "gold plated" priced one from a Lexus Dealer?

Does anyone know which hitch mfg. makes the OEM Lexus hitch and maybe have a part number?

Keep in mind, you will have to worry about the electrical hookup, if you intend to pull something.

The U hook is a simple choice, unless yu want to reposition the exhaust. I would ignore form over function, when it comes to hitch.

You can also search savage yards for OEM (used).

Lastly, keep in mind, the hitch CAN compromise on the safety of the occupants. For minor bumps etc it may benefit the RX and occupants, but a higher speed accident significantly changes the transfer of energy [exclusion printed on OEM hitch].

Actually the aftermarket company "Draw Tite" sells a hitch to fit your Lexus which looks identical to the "gold plated hitch" at Lexus. As far as the bracket around the exhaust, I believe that is pretty standard. One important thing...even though an aftermarket "T1" wiring harness is available, buy the oem Lexus harness. It is pretty much the same price. The factory harness connects to ONE factory harness connector at the left rear of the vehicle, however, some of the aftermarket harness' require you to run a hot wire from the rear of the vehicle to the battery. Stick with the oem Lexus harness, but as far as I know oem hitch as well as the one or two aftermarket hitches are identical is shape, size & design.
