Well - its been a while since I visited. Hope someone can help with the mirrors on my 04 330.

When in reverse, the side mirrors will lower (according to the switch on the mirror control).

Last year, I put signal light side mirrors on with no issues. At that time, I noticed that when in reverse, the mirrors would drop and knock a couple of times before settling in. I just assumed this was normal as all worked OK.

Now my right hand side mirror all of a sudden doesn't drop as much and keeps knocking until I put it in drive.

So I still need to look at the mirror but have a couple of quick questions.

1. Do the standard mirrors have the same 2-3 knocks before they stop or did I introduce this with my aftermarket signal mirrors.

2. Any suggestions as to what this might be so I don't chase my tail.

It has to be the installation you did. However I have not heard any complaints on any other aftermarket side cover installs...must be your installation. HAve to take it down again.

If you do, can you take pics? And post as if Diy?

 

Well - if I recall - it was pretty straight forward. The motor unit simply screwed into place.

All the holes were there. I pushed the mirror at the top and now it is working again.... well it only clicks once, then stops.

Do the OEM mirrors make a click noise before they stop when they are put into reverse?

 

Mine doesn't make any clicking noise when I put it in reverse. It moves smoothly.

 

Try to push it up some more...it is hitting the end of travel, from what I can think of. you are down to 1 click.

I had this issue with camry,what i did is i pushed the mirror smoothly with the hand all the way down,sprayed lubricant i think i used lithium then i moved the mirror with hand in different directions and spray in between and the problem disappered

 

Well the problem seemed to go away after moving the mirror around and doing the lithium thing. Not sure if it was the grease or moving the mirror around manually.
