Sometimes when I'm using the GPS system to get to a destination I get this very annoying behavior:

What happens is that the screen splits and I get all this information about services offered off of the highway that I'm traveling on. Perhaps this would be helpful if I wanted it but I DON'T! I find it extremely annoying to get this information about gas stations or hotels when I'm not looking for either.

Because it hasn't happened every time I've been on a highway I figured I must have tripped it somehow. Then I got to thinking that maybe it just happened when I got low on gas but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Any ideas about how to turn this off. My salesperson at Lexus is clueless about this. He says he's going to get back to me but I'm not holding my breath!

 

I think your "POI" is on. you can turn it off from the settings screen. The 09 has a voice command that turns it off. I think its "point of interest off."
