Those that have reported gas mileage are all over the place depending on where and how you drive. My 04 RX330 AWD lifetime average MPG is 22.6 and I get 26-27 MPG on the freeway. I use premium and my driving is 80% highway. With regular gas I get 1-2 MPG less.
If you are driving in the city most of the time you can expect much less.
well thanks for everyone thats chimed in, ive done some homework and it appears the 2004-2006 where called 330's and 2007-2009 are called 350's correct? gas mileage on the 2 wheel drive is about 18/21 is this correct? now ive heard that the nav firmware was upgraded in the 2007 models? is this correct?

That's correct but let me also tell yuo that the RX350's take premium fuel while the 330's call for regular. On my two 330's I average 20 city 27 on the highway, they are both 2wd.

correct: 330 = 3.3L V6, and the 350 = 3.5L V6. Big horsepower upgrade on the 350, and yes the nav software is upgraded i think in 06 or 07. you get a better resolution screen, but they also take away the ability to enter destinations while the vehicle is in motion.
the 350 is also quieter than the 330 due to better soundproofing. i noticed this slightly when i did some test driving (i was looking at 330, 350, and 400h).
take a look at an old lexus brochure online so you know ALL of the available options. theres a lot that are not that obvious but might benefit you.
My new-to-me 2006 AWD is getting about 18 MPG in the city, with the A/C most of the time, in the up and down hills of Pittsburgh. I have been using 89 octane which is midgrade around here. This agrees with Tromly's 20MPG city FWD. For comparison, our former V8 Explorer was getting 13 MPG (regular) in the same type of driving. The RX has been fairly impressive with regard to fuel economy considering how heavy it is, AWD, A/C, stop/start/steep hill city driving.
