Hi, I drive a 2004 rx330 and i have about 50k miles on it at the moment.
my problem started one day when i had to drive through some high water, i noticed that my a/c would just turn off out of no where and the a/c light would just keep blinking.
its been about a month or so and today i happened again out of no where, i was driving on a normal sunny day
oh yeah and if i just turn off the a/c and turn it back on everything seems to work fine again
if anyone could help me out that would greatly appreciated
thanks
Have seen the problem when water is present many times. There was a service bulletin for a small repair, however, I was told the system otherwise was working as it should and that the A/C cutting out was normal.
I had the same thing happen on my 2005 (45k miles). It happened twice at startup in the morning. I took it to the dealer to check and they could find no problems (no codes and it did not occur while they had the car). It hasn't happened for about 2 months.
I wanted to make sure that the issue was documented before the warranty ran out.

Same here. I didn't get the TSB done (I don't remember one being posted).

Did you notice if the engine temperature shot up? This is happening to my old RX (folks have it now). The problem started only when the RX was idling and parked on an incline - the A/C would go warm and the temperature gauge was 1 line away from hot. Once you resume driving on flat streets, the A/C would get cold and the temp gauge would fall to the middle.
Now, during normal driving, it'll happen on and off. Warm A/C, hot temp gauge.
Fellow members have said they think it's the cooling fan. We have an appointment coming up. I'll keep you infomed.
it was fine when i started it. the a/c cut out after about 15 minutes of driving and i was on the highway.
i dont think i really payed attention to the temp gauge at the time but ill keep that in mind if it happens again
