steady check engine & VSC lights
Just called the dealership for service. My check engine lights and VSC lights are on steady. They asked if they were flashing, and I said no. They said it is probably a gas cap leak!? They said I should take off the cap, reinstall with 2 clicks, drive the car around 8 times, and 99% of the time the problem will go away.
Anyone else have this problem???

Had the same problem with my 07. Disconnected the battery cable for a minute and it reset itself..for about a week and it happen again..took it to the dealer and they found a bad gas cap and replaced it ..no more problems since..been almost a year...
Well...my mom had her car stolen about 5 weeks ago and she's been driving my car while I help her look for something. We finally found something this past weekend. I get my car back and decide to reset the ECU to get that little extra kick. After I replace the fuse, I get in to start her up and the CEL and VSC lights are on and I'm like WTF!
I've reset the ECU plenty of times, so I know it wasn't from that. So...I go to the ole trusty CL and do a search and low and behold...mom didn't replace the gas cap tight enough! Problem solved. Thank you CL

Well, it turned out that the dealership was clueless. I tried the gas cap stuff, and it did go out, for about 40 miles. Then it came on right in the middle of a long trip.
I tried my obd II reader, but could not get the error code for some reason. Does the RX350 not follow standard obd protocols? My reader works in all our other cars.
In any event, it turned out to be an O2 sensor. They replaced it and the lights went out for good.
