I have seen cars getting flats that way. I guess with enough pressure and if the angle of impact is right, the seal on the wheel will be lost.

I saw an Oddysey lose a tire trying to get on the gutter to park, a loud pop, he lost the tire. He probably can just re-mount it.

Another lesson learned the hard way is to put anti-seize on the threads that you will be using the keyed lug nut on. I do this about once a year. Just a tiny dab to keep the lug nut from seizing, ergo the name "anti-seize". Since these locked lug nuts can't stand the same amount of torque that a standard lug nut can take, if you ever have one galled or rusted on, you might not be able to break it free. Happened to me and I had to chisel the darn thing off. The anti-seize helps prevent that.

Default On my way

You guys have me in a state of panic. I just ran out and looked for my key. I didn't want to wait until I needed it to find out that I didn't have it. I had to crack open the Owner's Manual to find out where to start looking. Aha! Look under the cargo area carpet, stupid! I finally found it, but the infamous black pouch had no lock. I had two, double ended open-end wrenches, a Phillips screwdriver and a pair of pliers in the black pouch. A cold sweat starts to break out on my forehead, as I start to envision an argument with the Service Rep over a $10 key. Eureka! Under my front license plate holder (we don't use a front plate in SC) was a clear zip-lock bag, with my key and registration card. There is even an eye bolt in there for towing but I wonder why there is only one...wouldn't the car go "crabbing" if it was pulled from only one side?

I will sleep better tonight, now that I know I have my wheel key. I might even turn off the C-PAP machine that I use for sleep apnea.

And the spare ignition key (credit card type) is locked put in the house...just in case.
