We just had the 09 Rx350 for about 2 days and its already past 1/2 tank!..Is this normal for a newly purchased Rx..considered normal break in?...if not, I'm scared!..and all this after driving conservatively..coasting/no sudden acceleration..etc.

Does it get better as more miles are put on?

 

The dealer probably just put some cheap gas in there.

 

We have no idea how far you have driven....I don't think the dealer put bad gas in your RX....Give the car a little time to judge your gas milage..Drive normal...Don't worry so much...It will get good mileage...My RX gets very good gas milage and I drive it aggressive....

 

You have no clue as to if the dealer truly filled the tank before turning it over to you. Also, you do not mention the number of miles travelled.

Fill it up yourself and see how it goes from there. When it doubt, do it yourself so there is no guess work involved. Reset your trip odometer as well.

 

Total miles so far is 237 with about 1/4 tank left......range says 77mi.

 

so that's something like 17 mpg for 250ish miles of mixed driving?
