Base Model RX: Does it even exist?
I know there is such thing as a base model RX from the dealer, but I have never seen one without the HIDs, Leather, etc. It appears as if the Premium Plus package is a base model and the higher end ones have a Navigation. Does anyone here actually own a real base model, no leather, no heated seats, no sunroof, no HIDs, please post a picture. I would really want to see what one looks like inside and out.

You need to understand how allocation works. Each dealership is allocated certain number of vehicles. If as a dealership you can sell all your allocation, you would tend to get allocation of vehicles which gets you the greatest margin [as loaded as they can be].
If you go to dealer and place an order, they should be able to get you the configuration you desire. That deal has the risk that the customer refuses to take delivery and then they are stuck with a vehicle which is not in demand.

Only one time did I ever see a new base lexus on the lot w cloth interior and no sunroof. It was a 2000 es. I have had several ES and RX loaners over the past 8 years and every one of them had leather & sunroof. In the early years, many of those loaners did not have HID's but I can say they all had HID's over the past 2 years. I'm sure base models esist but they are rare.

I've seen some without HIDs and no nav in the CPO aisles. They're all retired service loaners. Never saw any without leather though. I don't think Lexus and fabric can be mentioned together in the same sentence without seeing pigs fly by.

I've been at my lexus dealer for 1.5 years now and I've only seen 1 base modle RX. It was an 01 RX300, with cloth seats, no moonroof, and FWD w/o trac. It's the only one I've personally seen, and worked on. When I got in the car I couldn't figure out why it felt so different, it wasn't until I got into the shop and looked at another RX and realized that they were cloth seats
I've also seen an older es300, 94ish with a 5spd in it

Only once did I see a "base" RX300 with the cloth, no sunroof, no roof rack or spoiler. It was super minivan looking. To be honest, why would you buy a "base" RX or ES? If you did that, it's better to buy a mid-range Highlander or Camry.
