Question items in trunk(jack space)

I was looking thru the trunk area for the first time. I found the jack, first aid kit, tool kit and something else. I looks like a large eye bolt. Can anyone tell me what this is and whats it used for?

That's right - if you look at your front bumper you will see two removable "plugs" in the vinyl fascia. Pop one out, and screw that eyebolt in - voilà instant attachment point for a tow truck.

And, of course, that information is in the owner's manual.

I'm pretty sure there in one in my '04 RX (but I'm not going outside to check in this weather), and I'm pretty sure that there is one in the trunk of my SC430 also. I've never had to use one, but they are there just in case. I recall that you pop off a little square in the bumper and screw the bolt into the frame. I'm sure it's all spelled out in the manual.

Relying on memory here, but my towing bolt is in the center tray under the floor mat and rear compartment lid.

The plastic ones kept breaking.

If you are going to pull 4,000 pounds of car with it, I would hope for high quality.

It should be in the cargo area behind the smaller compartments. Lift the tab in the center of the cargo area and it should be with your tools.
