Default RX330 Headlight Replaced due to moisture

After several phone calls and attempts, dealership just replaced both front HL today under warranty. But they seem to be little different design than what was originally in my 04 RX. Has anyone else noticed any difference between 04 and new RX HLs?

HL Parts #: 8114548210 and 8118548210
They said if warranty expired, then it's around $600 per side.

Does anyone know if new HL has any warranty since my 4 yr warranty is expiring in few weeks. thanks.

I believe it is extended for a year for the component replaced (whichever is longer). But I am not sure about this. Better ask the dealer, or else call Lexus direct.

NO! is part of the 4 year or 50k miles. Whichever comes first.

The 04's were known to have they say dimmer HIDS (dont know) didnt shine bright enough or wrong cutoff??? But anyway there was a TSB that replaces both light units with newer improved ones. I had it done but really didnt notice much differance. This is only for 04's

I had both my 04 headlights replaced under warranty and separate times and notice no difference in light output between the new and the old when it was still in there.

I must say that noticed a very small difference in the HL and it's brightness. I wish I had a photo of my previous HL to compare it to the new one. I think the new one they put in looks like RX350's HL.

So, the GF's RX is 1000 miles past the warranty limit, and last week, we noticed condensation in the lense. Before I could do anything about it, the headlight is now not operating, I think the bulb went since it looks like it is trying to fire. I hope it aint the ballast or igniter.

So, anyone have any additional info on the TSB for the headlights. Would love to bring the car into the dealer and have them deal with this.

Michael

I went to the library yesterday to check on exactly when the TSB was issued, it was June, 2007.

Finally Lexus admitted that the headlamp housings were having condensation issues for some of 2004~2006 years. Apparently they have corrected on 2007.
