Default ATF: lexus vs Toyota

Hi,

My 2007 Lexus Rx is at 15000 mileage and is due for a ATF maintaince check.
I asked both the toyota dealer and lexus dealer service dept, and here is what they said:

toyta: no need for ATF drainage as it last up to 60k and manuel said up to 90k, even on a lexus.

lexus: we don't do flush at 15k, but just drain and fill at 15k.

Now, my question.

Should I ignore the maintaince light (or reset it), or bring it to lexus or toya for a drain and fill?

What is the different between drain/fill vs flush on ATF? will it hurt the car if I don't bring it? Can it be done by myself if i want to DIY?

Thanks

When I took our 2004 RX330 into Kuni Lexus (Denver, CO), they said they don't recommend a drain/fill on the transmission until 30,000 miles.

I called my lexus and they told me i needed a drain and fill at 15k and every 15k miles.

I am just worry that
1. if ignoring it until 30k or 60k is ok (won't hurt the car or void warrant)
2. can this be done by toyta or DIY

sorry, but does anyone know where is the ATF stick? I found the yellow engine oil stick but couldn't locate the one for ATF.

Have you checked your manual? I have a 330, I would have told you if I knew. Drain and Fill can be done DIY. Use type T-IV Toyota AT Fluid. You are at 15,000 miles you are fine, you will be ok, if you did the drain and fill, no need to bring in to the dealer.

what if i ignore the drain and fill at 15000 or even at 30000?
How do i drain and fill myself? (meaning which bolt to take out and where to drain).

What about the radiator fiuld?

I would stick the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual on both the radiator fluid and transmission fluid.

My 06 Tacoma doesn't have a dipstick for the trans. Just a fill plug and it is the worst trasmission I have ever had.
