Default I finally pulled the trigger, just in time

Hi all,
Well, I want everyone to know that after several months of hemming and hawing, finally got my RX350. I live in NV but travel to CA every couple of months. I had a '99 Durango with 100k miles, giving me problems. Lately it sounded like it didn't want to start. While in CA with the Dodge packed for return home, decided to stop by Longo in El Monte. Wife talked me into making a deal (didn't take much). I went out to move the Durango around to transfer my gear to new car, when I discovered it wouldn't start! Glad salesman didn't see this. Had to use the starter motor 4 times to get the car 100 yards to the parking spot.
I figure it was the fuel pump. So needless to say, I was in a hurry to get outa there with the new car. We would really have had trouble and much expense if failure would have happened going home (it was Sunday and 113 degrees).
Car was wonderful driving home (carefully of course) and the coolant needle never moved. Viva Las Vegas.

I am happy for you and your new RX350.

We have tons of Durangos down here and I have worked on a few at my uncle's shops. Can't remember a start going on them, but lots of other electrical issues. Otherwise, they can be durable compared to other vehicles in its class that are sold here.

Whoa! Talk about cutting it close! Wow, your luck is great, not only did you break down at a Lexus dealership, it was Longo, which always has great deals. That's where I got mine. Congrats on your new wheels!

Vroom,
Since you asked, my car is the Pearl White with tan interior, light colors work better where I live. Equipped with P/P package, nothing else. Sticker was something like $41,460.
some early observations:

On drive from SoCal to Henderson, 260 miles, filled up here, got 27 MPG actual. Better than expected.

Very quiet and comfortable, only noises were road noise from the tires, which is all that's left when you can't hear anything else.

Stock audio system sounds fine to me, easy to understand, we played CD's.

A few have said the seat cushion was on the short side, but wife and I thought it was very comfortable. Also, shorts are the dress code here and your legs don't sweat on the seat.

Light colors rock...the exact reason I chose mine too. Great choice - the crystal white was actually my first choice but I really wanted the grey interior. Echo on the stereo - I've been so pleased with this over the Bose units in my last two vehicles, that I don't feel any remorse for not getting the ML system.

Fuel economy has been a huge bonus - I'm averaging just over 24mpg, and on a round trip to Tahoe I averaged 27.3.

Congrats again!

24 mpg is awesome. I see 21.5 city on mine. Did 24.5 on highway one trip.

GMan.
12 MPG! Are you kidding? It got THIRTEEN! So no more 70$ fill-ups for me.

Lol, a friend of mine got a Durango. He gets about 12 in the city and spend close to a $100 a week on gas.

My last SUV was a pretty heavily modified (including aggressive PCM tune) Denali. I averaged 14mpg with a light foot. It is definitely a treat driving something that gets much better mileage.

I used to have Conversion Van (ok, stop laughing.....spills out how old I am) and I averaged 11 mpg, it was a 5.8 Li V8, FORD (Fix Or Repair Daily). I had a 35 gallon tank! Shoot, imaging what it will take to fill up the sucker!
