I'm shallow, but I'll admit it....the "driven by females" thing was a huge detractor for me. I didn't want a soccer mom vehicle. Seeing more and more men drive these things, and fellow musicians for that matter, did make the vehicle more attractive to me.
I drive it ebery single chance I get. I opted to buy this for her and postpone my 07 Acura TL, which in hindsight, was for the better, because I like a pre-owned ES or GS....now.......
Theres a TON of them here in Southern California, especially areas where asians are mostly concentrated. They're usually all the same 4 colors too. Once you enter one of those cities, you start seeing them like mad. Its mainly asian women who drive them too, for some reason the RX appeals more than the ML series by Mercedes...
Not a whole lot of RX's up here in our little corner of the Northwest. For that matter, not a whole lot of Lexus period. We're just starting to see RX 300's showing up, but seeing an RX330/350/400 is still pretty rare (unless they happen to have Canadian plates, or my neighbor with his Silver 330). We’re beginning to believe that we have the only IS in our area, as I have yet to see another one (other than a few random Canadian ones).
The RX's that we do see, US and CA, are about a 50/50 split between men and women drivers.
We have almost no RXs, much less Lexus of any kind. I met someone a few weeks back with an 2001 RX300, but otherwise a rare sight. Someone down the street from me has a Highlander, about as close as I usually get.

Well, here in southern California, there are Lexuses (or is it Lexii?) everywhere. There are 14 dealerships here. There are three within 20 minutes of my house.

There are three more in San Diego, which I forgot to include. This brings the number of Lexus dealers in southern California to 17. There are 36 in the whole state.
More luxury cars are sold here (southern California) than anywhere in the U.S. Specifically, in Orange Co. (where I live), they sell more Mercedes Benz cars than anywhere in the U.S.
I'm not sure of the #1 Lexus dealer (in volume)...does anyone have this info? I do know that the #1 Toyota dealership in the country is in southern CA (called, "Longo Toyota").
It seems to me like in the last four or five months, all of a sudden I've been seeing quite a few RX's in the Tampa area. One day, I had gone to this well-known lunch hangout in town to pick up some lunch to go and I noticed
next door in a rear parking lot by this restaurant, there was
approximately five or six Lexus RX's parked there. I laughed 'cause it kind of reminded me of a miniature dealership. It turns out they were all parked behind what looked like a hair salon or a hair salon/spa. Anyway, I did
get a chuckle after seeing all those RX's! I think a lot of people are catching on that this really is a nice, all-around
vehicle.
