on my 07' RX350 I somehow managed to add icons to the nav screen, it shows all restaurants and now I can't get rid of the darn things, and can't make heads nor tails from the book, could someone tell me how to get rid of them?

Go to "map view" and click icons or delete icons

 

Just press the voice command button on the steering and say "Hide all Icons"

 

Voice Commands to delte POIs :-)

"Hide All Icons"
"Hide Icons"
"POI" make sure to say "Pee"; "OOu"; "Eye"

:-)

By hand (how quaint) click on Map View and hit the POI button and either select the icons you want to toggle on or off or hit the DELETE button on top
