Best all weather mats.....??
and I bought the WeatherTech tan. They are not an exact match, but they look good. By the way, the WeatherTech cargo liner is superb: excellent fit and good complimentary color, if not an exact match. Our previous car was a Benz E class with a gray interior. I bought the MB all weather mats, which were black, and my wife hated them. Too much contrast between the interior color and the mats. That isn't a problem with the WeatherTech. I have had several sets of WeatherTech mats and have gotten good service from them all. The color is a real advantage. BTW, I didn't go with the floor liners because I didn't like the look and I feared that they might not be as durable, since they are a molded product as opposed to a thick rubber mat. I do think they'd provide the best protection, but I'd be afraid of a heel hole under the accelerator pedal after a couple of years. Good luck with whatever you decide!

If you just want to protect your mats and are not too worried about snow, sludge, mud, etc., you can use the mat liners like I bought.
They are clear (see-through) and are shaped just like the OEM mats and fit over them perfectly. The rear liner is once-piece that covers both original mats and the center carpeted area in between. The liners have "cleats" to hold them down over your existing mats.

My local dealer uses those liners - we got two sets from our salesman with each vehicle purchase. They're definitely a nice temporary solution but from an aesthetic perspective I find them similar to the plastic on Grandma's couch.
I was going to get those clear liners....grandma couch cover....swayed me to get the All Weather....I would have gotten the gray (I did not realize they had gray, I saw them at the dealer today), instead of the black, though....but I am still happy.
Keep in mind...they're great for preventing dry dirt from getting on your carpeted mats. Beyond that...they're not overly functional. Anything wet...where the a/w mats shine...and you have no protection. Worse, in fact...get in with wet shoes and you'll experience a very slippery surface.
As I mentioned earlier, they are good for use in southern California, but if you want to protect your carpets against snow, sludge, mud, etc., you'd be better off with the rubber mats. Where I live, I just want to protect the carpets mats from light dirt, etc.

For those of you with the weathertech liners, how do you clean yours? I've taken mine out, clear any debris, used hot soapy water (made with car wash detergent) and hand dried. They were clean, but they didn't look clean, like they did when new...they still had a dusty or dried muddy looking residue on them.

That'll just make them very slick. I noticed the same thing with my mats. I used a slight bit of residue of Poorboy's Bold N Bright on one corner after doing the tires. Still a bit slippery. I also tried 303 Protectant and Poorboy's Natural Look. Same thing. I'm looking for something that will make them black but won't create that effect. Not sure there's anything out there.
I'm getting ready to buy some WeatherTech floor mats for my new (to me) 2008 RX400h. I've had the standard WeatherTech floor mats for all of my vehicles in the recent past and I've been very happy with them.
This time I'm thinking about going the FloorLiner route. Anyone familiar with both styles and have a preference? The FloorLiners look like they will cover more of the carpeted area and look easier to clean. The one thing I was wondering is whether the feel of your feet on the FloorLiners is as comfortable as the rubber traditional mats.
Thanks in advance for any input.
