... if the salesman is still there.
I know that Salim is correct that the dealership will try to keep the same salesman connected to your account, but I've never seen a salesman last more than a year. I heard from one by mail a couple of times, but he was gone by the time I went back for my next car. So I wouldn't worry about it.

And yes, congrats on getting this situation resolved in a positive way!

The salesman seemed to have perfect product knowledge. He told us he had been selling Lexus for years. I wouldn't be surprised if he was still there for some time. I do plan, however, to keep this one for quite a few years!

Since I purchased the car outright I will get all the documents in the mail. I will go straight to the DMV pay my taxes and get my plates myself. I may run into him during the 30 day inspecton with the service department or the first oil change that I understand they provide for free, and that's fine. I am actually interested to see how he will treat us in future dealings.

You certainly shouldn't have any worries about meeting up with him again. If anything, your situation should teach him a lesson in customer satisfaction. These are expensive vehicles to purchase and maintain (e.g. price of Lexus dealer oil change). If Lexus expects to maintain their high customer satisfaction marks and keep customers willing to pay for their "premium" product, then their sales personnel must act accordingly.

I also had a negative experience when I leased my IS350. It was a special order, and the dealer tried to inflate the price of the vehicle when it arrived, claiming the "expense to special order", the "demand for the vehicles", and so on ad nauseum. When I calmly explained that I understood that there is no cheaper vehicle to sell than a special order (no carrying costs!), communications broke down further. I ended up getting the deal I needed to purchase the vehicle, but my experience taught me that Lexus dealers are the same as any other....great product, but miserable buying experience.
