1) Yes, all Toyota/Lexus models have them.

2) Why do you want to disable them?

3) No I don't know how.

Default Drl

My (wife's car) Toyota has DRL, probably Toyota is the only Japanese brand has DRL. For me, it is useless. How not turn on the headlights so the tail lights will on too? So the oncoming traffic can you see and so the traffic behind. I often turn DRL switch off or simply turn on the headlights. Disable it? I don't know.

Those instructions are long. Thank god in my RX300 all I would have to do is disconnect an electrical connection below the battery. I still use them though. Maybe Lexus caught on to what we were doing and decided not to repeat in the the newer RXs...sorry.

Yes, both RX330/RX350 have DRL's. I'm sure you have your reasons, but I have not seen a convincing argument to turn them off. It can't be a deal breaker,.... or is it?

Not in US, but most newer cars here have built in DRL's nowadays.

I didn't know that the DRL can be switched on/off? Is this true? I fot only find the DRL useless but annoying for some reason. Although its not a deal breaker, its one thing that I have to consider.

Annoying?

How can you tell they are on, unless you are driving into a mirror?

Before you make a deal to purchase any Lexus vehicle, have it noted on the sales agreement that you will not take delivery of the vehicle if the DRL's haven't been turned off. You do not have to accept the vehicle with those things activated. All the dealer has to do is use their computer to go into the vehicle's computer and turn the DRL's off. I had it done on an 05 and an 06 Lexus vehicle in the past year. Many dealers will act like they can't be turned off but if they want to make the sale, they will do it. If they give lip, go to another dealer. Very simple.

This is so true. A few years back, I was on a business trip to the U.S., stopped by a Lexus dealer and asked. They did not want to budge. However, after pestering enough, one of the mechanics told me outside the shop exactly how to do it. Have done it as a test and it works, but since we have a track rule that requires lights, the DRLs stay.

no, Honda/Acura has them too. There is a way to disable the DRL's with a fuse or whatever. The Honda Odyssey owners have found a way to enable DRL so there should be a way to disable it.

My cousin´s 1995 VW Golf VR6 has them. He put some kind of fancy PIAA bulbs on them, so they will stay.
