Default 2 DOWN & 1 TO GO

Drained & refilled the differencial & transfer case with synthetic lube.
Next week having the tranny flushed out. All this a 50K.
4 New Tires too, Michelin Energys.
Should be a all set till it needs brakes.

IS THERE ANYTHING I MISSED??

Master cylinder, power steering? I did this on my Corvette. It mostly helped keep the parts store in business.

Aloha,

Default Brake Fluid Flush

This is the most overlooked maintenance item for most people. Brake fluid becomes contaminated with water which reduces the overall effectiveness of the braking system. Water contamination is the result of condensation from heating up and cooling downof the fluid.

Also, don't forget the cooling system. A good drain and flush will help protect these componenets and allow them maintain their effectiveness.

Do both every 2 to 3 years.

Default Thanks

I would have never thought of the brake fluid. When I have the brake job done I'll have that done too.

Wonder if I could just do the master cylinder now, suck out the old stuff & put in new. ??

The brake fluid to be concerned with is in and beyond the accumulator pump for the ABS. The master cylinder supply doesn't buy much, as the fluid is not pumped through the entire system, like the power steering.

Draining the power steering reservoir and refilling a dozen times would change most of it out

Recommend you have a Toyota dealer change out your brake fluid. They have the service tool to activate the pump solenoids for complete bleeding.

At 50K, you are 20K overdue for the coolant and the brake fluid.

Coolant changes are refered to in this forum. Pretty simple step by step job.
