Need advice on RX350 paint problem
Hello All,
I took delivery of my Crystal White RX350 about 2 weeks ago. Last week I washed and waxed the car so I could put on a Form-fit hood deflector (looks good by the way). After washing I noticed some oxidation on the hood and applied some light rubbing compound to get rid of most of it. There is a very small speck that I couldn't get off.
I also noticed a yellowish green-spot on the roof above the rear door area on both sides. Rubbing compound did nothing for it. Saturday, I took the RX to the dealer and they gave me a loaner while they looked at mine. I called today and they said they are taking it to their body shop because the spots are underneath the clear coat. I think they dismissed the rust spec I couldn't get rid of because you can barely see it now after I got rid of most of it.
My question is, what recourse do I have? I have already expressed my concern with my salesman and he is going to talk to the new car sales manager about it. I don't feel comfortable with any paint work being done on a brand new vehicle. Is demanding a totally new RX350 being unreasonable?
Your thoughts?

Demanding a totally new RX350 because you're uncomfortable about redoing paint work on a new car sounds unreasonable. What I'd do if I were you is get a IOU with no expiration date from the dealer to get the paint job done and do it later when the car is a bit older. It's on the roof after all.
