help with interior color decision
I am not a big fan of black interiors, the black hole effect is pretty overpowering, IMO. Now having said that I am a big fan of contrasting tones between a cars interior and exterior. So with a silver RX I think a black interior would be a good match.

I could be driving it by this weekend.
It got up to 94 F today here in southern NH. I guess I'll find out soon enough how hot the black seats get!

, IF I were to opt for a black interior, it would be on a silver car. It looks terrific! But I have a couple of problems with black interiors. My automotive adolescence was spent in the early muscle car era, when everyone HAD to have a black interior - I mean it was BAD - in a good way. I learned rather quickly that black vinyl interiors get HOT in the summer sun. OK, don't wear shorts, unless you drape a beach towel over the seat. But there's a worse problem . . .
I discovered that black makes a smallish interior look like a stretch in solitary. Claustrophobics, beware - it will send you into a panic attack. That passenger door just seems to jump about a foot closer to you. People who design small interior spaces for a living will tell you that it's true, dark colors make small spaces seem much smaller because they suppress a lot of the visual cues we employ to define space. To make things worse, black interiors tend to be ALL black, compounding the problem.
No, I'm fine . . . I'll just stand out here and admire it . . .
