I am facing a similar problem and need some help. My moon roof is open and moves about a inch towards closing or opening an then stops. It makes a little chirping noise and the the noise stops. Any suggestions please?
I wonder if any one has a procedure to open / dismantle the moon roof. I want to attempt to open and see what is stuck in there. It all began after the battery drain. Please suggest.

Thanks for this thread. I just purchased a used '04 RX330 and I thought something was wrong with the moon roof. I followed the directed fix, and it is working fine.
A year ago my RX330 2004 with 39000 miles on it, the moon roof opened and partially closed then went sideways and jammed. I took to local Lexus dealer who told me track mechanism needed to be replaced and charged me $1300. They offered no help since it was a 2004. Now the dash is cracking and they won't help with that either. I will not own any more LEXUS / TOYOTA products. WE also have a 2004 Linc Nav with 128000 miles and it has not had 1/2 the problems the RX330 has.
