I have a RX330 with halogen headlights and would like to know is it just a plug and play if I switch to a HID Unit.
Would they use the same connectors and have the ballest built into the headlights?
Thanks for your input.

Nobody has posted a response to this? Guess nobody's done it.

On the contrary, there have been too many discussions on this issue and search + inquiry from an after market vendo site (there are CL sponsors right here) can provide all the informaiton.
IN summary:
The hid from factory are different reflector and include leveling mechanism.
Retro fit with HIDs is possible but you do not get the results that OEM provides (color, cut off, focus and levelling). To some the results are acceptable.
Plug and play or not is an issue for the kit you select. Ballasts have to be mounted too, so it is more than connector issue.
If some one wants exact setup, including auto-levelling, as an OEM HID, the expense may run as high that selling your current and buying another RX with HIDs may be a better option. [too many variables though].
It might be worth re-evaluating why HIDs at this stage. Is the color of light you like from a car you see in the rear view mirror? The Halogen light that you currently have is not producing "true colors"? You drive a lot at night and you want the extra 5% (choose your number) ease that you get by HIDs. Once you establish the pain/gain and your threshold, go for it.

Salim has good point, what's is driving you to upgrade? Would have been better to buy one with it, instead of retrofitting.
